its a battle--week one

It's a battle

I have to learn how to tell myself NO!

Tomorrow makes one week since I started this. I weighed myself...I'm three pounds lighter.

I feel no different, Im still tired, I still LOVE food, I guess I feel a little bit happeir that I'm eating healthier, but if I am honest, I feel no different. So I gotta keep it up.

I've been tracking my food intake and my exercise outtake on my iPhone/iPad using the Lose It App!

I LOVE it, It sends me a reminder when I don't log my things. It has all the foods I have eaten!

as far as working out goes, I worked out 3 times last week. I used to always opt for the elevator when I came to a set of stairs, now they don't seem as daunting. I am thinking about getting a treadmill at my house, not sure tho, I love the out doors I just hate the winter. For now tho I go to campus to work out because we have a small work out facility there. When I'm there I usually do the bike and the treadmill, on the treadmill I usually Walk the straights, and run/jog the curves.

this allows me to increase my heart rate for a few seconds, and then I calm down on the straight parts of the track, I usually do this for a mile, then I ride the bike for a mile or 15 min. whatever is longer. Not sure if this is the best work out for me, but that's what I do. I hope once I get into a cardio routine I can add weight lifting... I HATE, ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY HATE, MY FAT ARMS! If you have any tips on how to shrink my fat arms PLEASE let me know!

those are my thoughts for today...

  1. Think of it like you do a semester-long class. You don't show up to class for one week and feel any smarter, right? But over the course of the whole semester you've probably learned a lot of things, and you'll always have those course credits. No one can take that from you.

So don't fret that you don't feel different after a week. It's a long-term marathon, not a short-term sprint. We didn't get this size in a week; it'll take us longer than that to get to a healthy weight.

  2. Ooo, also, someone described it to me like a class in another way... it's a discipline. There's lots of days we don't want to go to class or write the paper or read the book... but we do, because we're committed to getting this degree.

Look at every meal, every workout like that. It's just another commitment we've made, and we're disciplined and can do it.

  4. Hey Beck, i've got some big rubber band type of things you can use to help with the arm thing. Each.color is a different strength. I can bring them to the baby shower. Just let me know... Great job, keep up the good work.

  5. YOU CAN DO IT, Becky!! I know sometimes when the task seems so daunting, it can be discouraging and it might make you feel like giving up. But just remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Envision the person you would like to be with every thought in your day, and keep that focus clear. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve it. I believe in you. Try to focus on other things other than food. Sometimes the more time you spend thinking about what you don't/can't have, you forget the things you do/can have. Focus on the positive, and you will see a positive change in your life. You can do it, I know it.
